OFFER OF THE EXPERIMENTAL PROOF GROUND:
We offer to use the underground proof ground of the Experimental Mine "Brabara" in order to conduct scientific-research activities comprising:
- investigations into the course of coal dust and methane explosions in experimental gates 400 m and 200 m
- investigations into the course of other organic dusts explosions, including corn dusts
- strength tests of explosion-proof dams of different thickness and construction in the experimental gate 200 m at the testing stand with cross-section 11 m2 and length 10 m
- testing of explosion-proof barriers of various types - dust, water, trigger barriers with the use of detectors
- show coal dust explosions in experimental gallery 100 m along with training in the field of dust hazard control
CHARACTERISTIC OF THE EXPERIMENTAL PROOF GROUND:
The underground workings of the Experimental Mine "Barbara" of the Central Mining Institute have been localised at the levels 30 and 46 m. Their total length amounts to 5 km, the cross-section from 4 m2 to 10 m2. The experimental gates were driven using concrete support and they have been equipped with a system of explosion measurements along with recording and teletransmission of data.
- The underground workings comprise:
- gate of 400 m length and cross-cut 7.5 m2, with outlet to the surface from the level 46 m
- gate of 200 m length, cross-section 11 m2, with 10-meter section of cross-section 11 m2
- connecting gate: length 140 m, cross-section 4 m2
- low gate at the level 30 m, length 180 m, cross-section 7.5 m2 (height 1.5 m, width 5 m)
- chamber working with dimensions 6x80 m
- Coal seam 310, non-gassy, classified among the group of medium susceptibility to spontaneous ignition, not hazardous with respect to rockbursts
- Shafts: main and ventilation shaft; possibility of transportation of loads with length up to 6 m
- Hoisting installations - only in the main shaft
- Fans:
- main fan of 2250 m3/min capacity and accumulation equal to 700 Pa
- auxiliary fan of 3500 m3/min capacity and accumulation equal to 1000 Pa
- Energy supply:
- surface - 12-field switching station with average voltage 20/0.5 kV and 20/0.4 kV
- underground - 500/127 kV, maximum supply power 250 kV
- Underground communication from the level 46 m to the dispatcher point
- Compressed air network of m3/min capacity
At all testing stands exists the possibility to carry out measurements of explosion proof parameters on the basis of the data control and acquisition system of Hewlett-Packard firm.
The standard measuring possibilities comprise the measurements of the following parameters:
- total static and dynamic gas pressure
- gas temperature
- localisation of explosion flame front
- stresses in constructional elements
There exists the possibility to adapt the measuring system for the needs of a definite tests and extending in this way the set of measured parameters.
