Główny Instytut Górnictwa gained 3 distinctions of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for its inventive activity during the XVIII Exchange of Polish Inventions on the 7th March 2011. The distinctions concerned such inventions as: awarded at Brussels-Innova 2010 Invention Exhibition instrument for carbon dioxide emission from coal dumps measurement, and awarded with golden medals with distinctions at International Innovation Exhibition IWIS 2010 shaft structure geometry and equipment parameters measurement laser system and EW-3 laser for mining applications.
Instrument for carbon dioxide emission from coal dumps measurement is a modern, portable measurement set for in-situ tests. It makes possible measurement and then balance of carbon dioxide outflow from coal dumps in all conditions including measurement in burning sites. It is characterized by wide range of measuremnt (0-50 000 ppm CO2), other fire gases, smokiness, temperature, pressure and air humidity changes resistance.
EW-3 laser for mining applications is designed for mining surveying works and is produced in fire-proof case. It can be used in coal mines endangered by methane occurrence and is designed for aligning of gallery mine workings, all types of longwall fronts and by setting long mining equipment and installations (conveyors, railways, pipelines and others).
Shaft structure geometry and equipment parameters measurement laser system makes possible to set out the absolute optical plumb line with its constant stability control. Measurement system conducts automatic digital measurements regarding laser plumb line during constant ride of the shaft cage and gains higher than required measurement precision. Preparation works connected with lowering and control of mechanical plummets were eliminated, number of measurement staff was limited and the measurement time was shortened.
