On 27th April 2011 the Memorandum of Understanding between Institute of Clean Technologies for Extraction and Utilization of Energy Resources from Ostrava, Czech Republic and Główny Instytut Górnictwa was signed in therange of Clean Coal Technologies.
Cooperation will cover such areas as: gasification of coal and biomass, underground coal gasification, CO2 sequestration in geological structures problems and geotechnological problems connected with mining activity with a special regard to environmental aspects. In practice it means common scientific-research elaborations, exchange of specialists within the frame of scientific internships, seminars and conferences, exchange of journals and pubblication of the research elaborations results in both institutions’ journals.
At the european research market Clean Coal Technologies and CO2 sequestration are the basic zero-emission technologies of fossil fuels electrical energy producing which is one of the most important scientific problem in the world.
GIG’s active participation in European projects and cooperation with world research and industrial institutions also were appreciated by Czech partner. One of the last big-scale solution enterprise is creating of the Clean Coal technologies Centre in Silesia – joint venture of GIG and Instytut Chemicznej Przeróbki Węgla (Institute for Chemical Processing of Coal).
