On 5th of June AMIIGA project was presented during the international Forum of Cities and Regions "Investing in Western Balkans - Investing in Europe", which took place on June 4-6, 2019 in Jasionka near Rzeszów in Poland.
This conference was organized by Polish Ministry of Investment and Development in cooperation with the Marshal's Office of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship.
Our project was chosen to be presented during session devoted to territorial cooperation, from different projects implemented with the participation of Polish institutions under the Interreg Europe, Baltic Sea Region and Central Europe programmes.
AMIIGA was represented by Dr. Sandra Vasin from Stuttgart and Dr. Grzegorz Gzyl from the Central Mining Institute in Katowice (project coordinator), who drew attention to the benefits of exchanging experiences, sharing good practices and knowledge. They also emphasized the practical dimension of international activities - from the development of groundwater remediation methods to their testing in seven pilot actions. Additionally representative of Stuttgart emphasised that participation in the Interreg projects means for the city, among other things, access to innovation and the possibility to check activities with a higher risk before making a decision on their financing from local resources.
Participants international Forum of Cities and Regions have been also invited to AMIIGA final conference, which will take place on 24-25 October 2019 in Jaworzno.
