  • New generation multilayer film for silage production – under “Program Badań Stosowanych”, nr PBSIII/B9/30/2015, years of implementation: 2015-2017. The goal of the project is to develop a technological regime for the production of multilayer film for agriculture for the production of silage with special properties: increased oxygen barrier and strength, and easy to recycle after use. The proposed project is interdisciplinary, integrating fields of science related to material engineering, including the production of polymer composites with unique properties for individual layers of multilayer film with assumed parameters agricultural engineering (production of silage), environmental engineering (LCA) and modeling methods. During the project implementation, close cooperation between scientific units and entrepreneurs is planned. In addition to the scientific and research units (Department of Material Engineering of Central Mining Institute and the Agricultural University in Kraków), the main contractors implementing the project are the companies: ERG BIERUŃ-FOLIE Sp. z o. o.and Ośrodek Hodowli Zarodowej in Osiek Sp. z o. o.
  • „Development of techniques and technologies for the production of a new generation of high pressure composite tanks for technical gases”-project financed by “National Research and Development Center” under the Program Innotech, nr: INNOTECH-K3/IN3/44/229269/NCBR/14, years of implementation: 2014-2016. The aim of the project is to develop a technology for the production of composite tanks, in particular their polymer inner coating (so-called liner), resistant to gas environment, gas penetration, internal pressure and temperature changes, and the inside wall of the tank with an optimal structure capable of carrying loads resulting from the condition of over twenty years of operation. The tank liner will be developed mainly based on thermoplastic poly (terephthalate ethylene) (PET) with a planned modification towards good processing, mechanical and barrier properties. Processing processes and their impact on the final quality of the insert will be assessed. The implementation of research will enrich knowledge in the field of material engineering and will allow after the project to launch the world's first high-pressure fourth-generation composite tanks for high-strength technical gases with a guarantee of durability.
